GPU crash dump saved to /sys/class/drm/card0/error
Hi, here's my story:
Linux 4.4.26-gentoo
X.Org X Server 1.17.4
Using Kernel Mode Setting driver: i915, version 1.6.0 20151010
lspci output:
00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation Haswell-ULT Integrated
Graphics Controller (rev 0b) (prog-if 00 [VGA controller])
Subsystem: Lenovo Haswell-ULT Integrated Graphics Controller
Flags: bus master, fast devsel, latency 0, IRQ 43
Memory at b2000000 (64-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=4M]

I/O ports at 4000 [size=64]
Expansion ROM at <unassigned> [disabled]
Capabilities: [90] MSI: Enable+ Count=1/1 Maskable- 64bit-
Capabilities: [d0] Power Management version 2
Capabilities: [a4] PCI Advanced Features
Kernel driver in use: i915
relevant dmesg part:
[174848.020682] [drm] stuck on render ring
[174848.021627] [drm] GPU HANG: ecode 7:0:0x19f669dc, in chrome [7021], reason:
Ring hung, action: reset
[174848.021629] [drm] GPU hangs can indicate a bug anywhere in the entire gfx
stack, including userspace.
[174848.021629] [drm] Please file a _new_ bug report on bugs.freedesktop.org
against DRI -> DRM/Intel
[174848.021630] [drm] drm/i915 developers can then reassign to the right
component if it's not a kernel issue.
[174848.021631] [drm] The gpu crash dump is required to analyze gpu hangs, so
please always attach it.
[174848.021632] [drm] GPU crash dump saved to /sys/class/drm/card0/error
[174848.023660] drm/i915: Resetting chip after gpu hang
[175839.965602] [drm] stuck on render ring
[175839.966627] [drm] GPU HANG: ecode 7:0:0xcbdfbffe, in chrome [32177],
reason: Ring hung, action: reset
[175839.968595] drm/i915: Resetting chip after gpu hang
Please advise how to deal with this or if more information is required,
thanks!</pre>
