not sure whether this is the same bug but I can't start X with nouveau from
Linux 4.10.1, unless I pass nouveau.runpm=0.
The symptoms are the same as in this bug report, but I don't use Optimus for
this PC. I didn't have any problems with Linux 4.9.11.
