<pre>I tried this recent patch proposal:
<a href="https://lists.x.org/archives/xorg-devel/2017-March/053133.html">https://lists.x.org/archives/xorg-devel/2017-March/053133.html</a>
It works fine as long as I use a xorg.conf.
It also solves the screen corruption issues mentioned in <a class="bz_bug_link
bz_status_NEW "
title="NEW - Regression in 16bpp between 1.18.3 and 1.18.4"
href="show_bug.cgi?id=100295">bug #100295</a>.
But when I'm using `xinit -- -depth 16` instead of a xorg.conf, then all the
issues are still there.</pre>
