I built and I'm currently running 4.11.0-rc8-drm-tip+ #8 SMP Mon Apr 24
10:06:22 UTC 2017 x86_64 GNU/Linux
... in response to your last comment. Apologies for the delay - I haven't been
using this system as much recently. The problem seems better with this build,
but not eliminated. I now usually only lose one display at a time, and not
nearly so frequently. The system will typically be OK for >24 hours, but once
it starts the symptom, it then reoccurs about once per hour.
The original kernel debug messages are gone, but I'm seeing:
[344312.224123] [drm:asle_work [i915]] bclp = 0x8000000c
[344312.224138] [drm:asle_work [i915]] updating opregion backlight 12/255
[344341.776561] [drm:asle_work [i915]] bclp = 0x80000019
[344341.776577] [drm:asle_work [i915]] updating opregion backlight 25/255
which I *think* are associated with the screen flashes. The system is a
desktop with two 4k monitors.
