<pre>None of the patches posted here can be applied to the current mainline
(4.13.0-rc2) kernel. They didn't work for me on 4.6.0 either. As far as I know,
noone has ever managed to control the backlight of this laptop under Linux.
>From what I can tell (not a dev), the problem is with the LPSS PWM driver for
this device, not just the bwm_bl backlight driver.
There are no devices listed under /sys/class/pwm/ so even if pwm_bl works,
there is no pwm chip for it to use.
