I've already tried removing i915.panel_ignore_lid=0. (See <a href="show_bug.cgi?id=104425#c4">comment #4</a>.)
As to trying UEFI, this is my work laptop, so it will be a while before I have
time to reconfigure it and install a new operating system.</pre>
