<pre>Without the patch the monitor is in a strange state. xrandr sees it with modes
etc., but the monitor is "frozen": you can't access any of its own OSD. Power
cycling doesn't help. As long as the monitor is connected to the DP, it could
also be a brick with electricity.</pre>
