FWIW, as of 4.17-rc5 (commit 10cfc747835e34c) which I'm randomly running now
while trying to bisect <a class="bz_bug_link
bz_status_NEW "
title="NEW - two external screens permanently go blank on HP EliteBook Folio G1"
href="show_bug.cgi?id=108462">bug 108462</a>, it still turns on both screens during boot.</pre>
