However, I believe what you're seeing is probably due to the fact that the dGPU (AMD), and only the dGPU, is wired up to the external DP (in order to use an external monitor the dGPU has to be enabled - e.g. I usually power down the dGPU to save power (via vgaswitcheroo), but have to power it back up if I want to use an external monitor). > - can you disable the AMD GPU in BIOS or blacklist the module and test it?
