I can also confirm a GPU hang with the following setup:
* CPU: Core i7 7700T (Intel Graphics HD 620)
* host kernel: 4.20.0-rc3 (gvt-linux/gvt-next branch) - arguments:
i915.enable_gvt=1 kvm.ignore_msrs=1 intel_iommu=on drm.debug=0
(gvt-stable-4.17 did not work due to unsupported 2MiB GTT)
* host os: Ubuntu 18.04.1 amd64
* guest os: Windows 10 Pro 1803 Build 17134.1 x86_64
* guest GFX driver: Intel HD Graphics 630 25.20.100.6444
* QEMU: 3.1.0 (IGD Assignment: Legacy mode) - arguments:
-machine type=q35,accel=kvm,kernel_irqchip=on
-cpu host
-bios /usr/bin/bios.bin
-drive
if=virtio,file=.../Windows10.qcow2,aio=native,cache.direct=on,l2-cache-size=8M
-smp 4,cores=4
-m 4G
-enable-kvm
-object rng-random,id=rng0,filename=/dev/urandom
-device virtio-rng-pci,rng=rng0
-monitor stdio
-device qemu-xhci,id=xhci
-device usb-tablet
-M graphics=off
-vga none
-display gtk,gl=on
-device
vfio-pci,sysfsdev=/sys/bus/pci/devices/0000:00:02.0/97d40b8a-f89d-11e8-a95f-4ff9be8f1398,display=on,x-igd-opregion=on
* vGPU with WUXGA resolution (i915-GVTg_V5_4)
* Mesa: 18.0.5-0ubuntu0~18.04.1
Steps for reproduction:
* The GPU hang occurs after some seconds playback of a YouTube video
(<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I4WIYzizbAs">https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I4WIYzizbAs</a>) in Chrome in Full-HD resolution
on an vGPU within a Windows 10 guest.
Do you have any suggestions?</pre>
