Not sure what I can do about it though :-(
The sad thing is that is used to work perfectly -- not sure how or what layer
was able to deal with this behaviour/recover from it, voluntarily or not.
Any idea of what userspace layer I may look at? (the one that presumably turns
the monitor off/on -- and sometimes fails to turn it on) (Ubuntu
18.10/gnome-shell)
