That work *is* already integrated.

Owen and I were recently chatting about this, and neither of us know why
I've never replicated performance like he saw. He's planning on
retesting with the latest code soon, and I'm interested in trying out
his server code with a driver checkout from mid-April or so to see if I
can replicate his results.

Of course, if anyone else wants to try that same experiment, that would
be great.
