'Twas brillig, and Maxim Levitsky at 06/07/09 20:46 did gyre and gimble:

May I recommend the following two patches we add in Mandrvia packages as
previously recommended on this list:

http://svn.mandriva.com/cgi-bin/viewvc.cgi/packages/cooker/mesa/current/SOURCES/0200-i965-fix-memory-leak-in-context-renderbuffer-region-.patch?revision=392643&view=markup

The other major leaks we used to experience are now rolled into the mesa
7.5 rc4 (or before).

A corresponding fix to Compiz:
http://svn.mandriva.com/cgi-bin/viewvc.cgi/packages/cooker/compiz/current/SOURCES/0506-glx-Use-glXDestroyPixmap-rather-than-glXDestroyGLXPi.patch?revision=387195&view=markup

My memory usage is pretty reasonable these days, but I'm still feel like
it could be plugged up a bit more still.
