I am working on an ASUS motherboard (P5QPL-VM EPU) with Intel on-board graphics (GMA4500). I am trying to setup up Dual Head/Monitors following the guide http://intellinuxgraphics.org/dualhead.html.
My system info:
Linux Kernel 2.6.28.5
X.Org 1.5.2 (7.4)
Intel driver 2.6.0 (i486)
Following the guide, I've been able to run dual head under low resolution. i.e. 640x480 on "Monitor0" and 1280x960 on "Monitor1". Any higher resolution will cause xorg failed to start and fall back to Clone mode. I notice there seems to be a max limit for the Virtual Screen (2048 2048?!)
Just want to clarify if it is a known behavior? Or I have done something wrong. My target is to set "Monitor0" to run at 1024x768 and "Monitor1" to run at 1920x1080. Wonder if that is possible with the current driver and OS.

p.s. I had ran some test
under Ubuntu 9.04 with the same hardware but different kernel and different Intel driver using the Ubuntu display
setup utility. It behaves some what similar. Setting monitors at higher
resolution 1920x1080 would make the other screen fail to response. Works ok when both
screens run at 1024x768.
