[Intel-gfx] [intel-gfx] Purpose and functionality of Graphics driver

Hello,

Could some one please explain me what is the purpose and functionality of
graphic drivers. What i know is Graphics device driver primary role is
rendering. It has direct interaction with the hardware. The primary job is
allocating the buffers and maintaining it. I am not pretty sure of
functionality of graphic driver. Could somebody pls share me some documents
or some explanation ...
