Tried it on top of 2.6.31 on my Dell Laptop with an 965GM (using xorg driver 2.8.1).
I don't observe any regressions up to now. KDE4 (with effects enabled), mplayer
and suspend2ram all work fine (as they did before with vanilla 2.6.31).
One question: Should framebuffer compression work? Xorg.log seems to indicate that it
doesn't:
(**) intel(0): Framebuffer compression disabled
Is framebuffer compression not supported on my GPU or did I miss something?
