Hello,
I'm looking for some documentation or assistance on getting
"inteldrmfb" (from 2.6.36) to work on a GM965 connected to an HDTV
which is sending incorrect EDID information. Basically what's
occurring is the monitor (a Toshiba HDTV) is sending an incorrect
modeline:
BAD: Modeline "1920x1080" 148.50 1920 2008 2052 2200 1080 1084
1089 1125 +hsync +vsync
GOOD: ModeLine "1920x1080" 148.35 1920 2058 2052 2200 1080 1085
1090 1125 +hsync +vsync
This is causing all four edges to be slightly off the screen. I've
been able to get X to work by manually specifying the modeline via
the Monitor section of my xorg.conf, but I'm not sure what the
process is to get the console to work properly. I've checked
Framebuffer-HOWTO (http://tldp.org/HOWTO/Framebuffer-HOWTO/), but I'm
not sure what's still valid.
I've converted the xf86 modeline to framebuffer dev timings/geometry
(seciton 15), and pass it via GRUB (or through fbset), but neither
seem to work. The values I'm using are:
video=xres:1920,yres:1080,depth:32,left:148,right:138,hslen:-6,upper:35,lower:5,vslen:5
I apologize if this is the incorrect list to contact, and would
appreciate any leads to the correct folks.
Thanks,
Nick
