I tried this with 2.6.33.3 on my X61s (i965). I got down to 7,3W where
I got 7,4W before.  But I also added the kernel parameters you
mentioned (fbpercrtc=0 powersave=1 lvds_downclock=1).  So, not sure if
there is actually a difference compared to the old power consumption
(the difference seems to be very small) at least on this kernel.
