[Intel-gfx] GPU freeze on Kubuntu 12.10 system

OK.   I downloaded the Ubuntu installer,  installed it and ran intel-linux-
graphics-installer.     It did a lot of stuff,   asked me to reboot.     Still 
have the GPU hang message in dmesg.     How do I tell if I'm running the 
latest stuff?
