AFAIK it's usually the other way around, where _unlocked() means the
caller hasn't locked the object, see for example pin_map_unlocked(),
unbind_unlocked() etc.
Also IIUC there is no i915_request_await_object() in here, but it looks
like some of the callers are converted over to using this, even though
they previously had the await? That looks like a functional change?
Maybe I'm misreading something here...
