I just wonder, then, where this number comes from, looks to me
like an ill formatted constant coming from the compiler
(definitely bigger than a ull).

I also thought that the compiler should have figured it out, but
then why we got that error, and I don't see how
"bf_cast_unsigned(_reg, ~0ull)" could fail.
