I reproduced the problem that was reported using a host kernel that I
built at "gvt-staging" (i.e., commit 9401bac, "gvt-staging:
2017y-08m-23d-15h-36m-17s CST integration manifest").

On top, I applied the patch in this thread, rebuilt the host kernel, and
tested it. The issue is gone.
