Oh. I just remember we need this both for 4.14 and 4.15 since we have missed 4.15 drm intel next pull. The lazy shadow will come into 4.16...

Yes. This patch is only for 4.14 since we don't want the final 4.14 LTS is broken and the lazy shadow is for 4.15+.

As Chris's patch is not in 4.14, there're still time to better fix this for 4.15, if you don't plan to push more cleanup for 4.15..
