It appears like you have not enabled accessibility on your system. Could
you check if System --> Preferences --> Assistive Technologies (in
Gnome) is enabled?

But since you say that the scripts from the pyautosuite module worked
fine, I am rather unsure about this. Could you confirm that you have
enabled accessibility?
