[Libburn] Capabilities of libburn.

Hello,
I've started to write an cdrecord frontend. But as time is passing as
less happy I am with the idea of parsing the output of cdrecord. 
Now, since I have heard about libburn I would like to know what's the
current state of the project. 
Most of all, is it currently possible to
 - burn audio CDs 
 - write data CDs on the fly? (I've read that there is a bug in
libisofs, would it be possible to use mkisofs instead of libisofs, would
that be a lot of work?)
