Thanks for posting your steps!

Note that step #3 (install libdlo) from your instructions isn't
required. It should probably be removed so no one gets confused :).
Neither the udlfb kernel driver or the displaylink X server have any
dependencies on libdlo itself -- udlfb has all the displaylink
hardware knowledge in it.
