My method would be more like using the official NVU file from the
source.sierrawireless site, they claim that the Windows EXE will update
the firmware and the PRI (carrier provisioning file), but Lenovo does
not seem to be the "Carrier" here.

Might be easier then to use QMI and implement the FCC method there?
(Which leads to another problem, as the EM7455 does not seem to respond
to QMI commands with uqmi, in QMI mode, but that's kina off topic here)
