Just FYI

There is a new BSD licensed GobiAPI release at
https://www.codeaurora.org/patches/quic/gobi/Gobi/ now partly
documenting the extremely useful WDA service, replacing the undocumented
QMI_CTL_SET_DATA_FORMAT command among other things.

This is most certainly something you will want to look into.  One
important feature is the ability to *query* what data format the device
is configured to use.
