Difference between 341U (1199:9055) and 341U "IPT2" (1199:9057) ?

System is an openwrt box with no modem manager etc..  The 1199:9055
modem works perfectly fine there - it creates a wwan0 interface, I run
udhcclient on it and I get an IP address and can reach out to internet
perfectly well.

The 1199:9057 creates a wwan0 interface, I run udhcpc on it and I dont
get any IP address. Since the name says "IPT2" modem, I assumed that
it probably needs to connect to an APN and get a public IP address
etc.. So I tried the below, I tried changing the "broadband" to
"r.ispsn" and "cinet.spcs" based on some sprint + 341U forums, that
too doesnt help. The wwan0 just doesnt respond to a dhcp request.

qmicli -d /dev/cdc-wdm0 --wds-start-network=broadband --client-no-release-cid

The 1199:9057 also creates a usb0 interface which responds to dhcp
requests with a 192.168.x.x local ip address, but if I try to get to
internet through usb0, that fails too.

Any suggestions here will be greatly appreciated ! I am hoping its
something very simple that I am missing since 1199:9055 works straight
out of the box and 1199:9057 doesnt !
