Telit 4G Modem - qmi command errors

Hello,

I am using a Telit LE910-EUG 4G Modem on a custom Linux OS ( Buildroot and 4.9.13 Kernel ). I was having a few issues and noticed that Buildroot did not include the latest ( 1.18.0 ) version of libqmi so I upgraded that.

Things seem much better after that, but now I am getting intermitant errors when trying to use the "qmicli" and "qmi-network" commands.

These are the two typical errors I am seeing:

1)
# qmicli -d /dev/cdc-wdm0 --nas-get-signal-strength
[28 Jun 2017, 13:44:37] -Warning ** Error reading from istream: Error reading from file descriptor: Input/output error
error: couldn't create client for the 'nas' service: CID allocation failed in the CTL client: Transaction timed out
# qmicli -d /dev/cdc-wdm0 --nas-get-signal-strength
error: couldn't create client for the 'nas' service: QMI protocol error (3): 'Internal'
# qmicli -d /dev/cdc-wdm0 --nas-get-signal-strength
error: couldn't create client for the 'nas' service: QMI protocol error (3): 'Internal'

2)
# qmi-network /dev/cdc-wdm0 status
Loading profile at /etc/qmi-network.conf...
    APN: internet
    APN user: web
    APN password: web
    qmi-proxy: no
Getting status with 'qmicli -d /dev/cdc-wdm0 --wds-get-packet-service-status  '...
error: couldn't create client for the 'wds' service: CID allocation failed in the CTL client: Service mismatch (requested 'wds', got 'nas')
error: couldn't get packet service status

I can *generally* communicate OK when trying to get signal strength using "qmicli -d /dev/cdc-wdm0 --nas-get-signal-strength" and I can connect serially to one fo the ttyUSB devices and run "AT" commands without issue.

Has anyone come across these errors, or can give me any tips what could be wrong or how to help diagnose the issue further?
