You may need to connect to 2 different APNs at the same time (e.g. one
for corporate network, one for public internet access), so with 2
WWANs you're able to do so independently, and perform all the
necessary routing in the host. Other manufacturers, like u-blox, let
you do that internally (i.e. connecting to multiple APNs on the same
WWAN and then configuring routes via AT commands).
