Hi all,

I am working with Sierra Wireless em9191 and unfortunately I have some
problems with modem flashing: "error: couldn't parse option context:
invalid vendor id". I hope somebody will write some thoughts on this
situation...

Full description:

1) I got official firmware from:
https://source.sierrawireless.com/resources/airprime/software/em919x/em9-approved-fw-packages/

2) Tried to flash the modem with default 1.26.10 qmi-firmware-update
version from Debian 11
# qmi-firmware-update -w /dev/cdc-wdm2 -update SWIX55C_01.07.13.00-005.cwe
SWIX55C_01.07.13.00_ATT_012.007_002.nvu
*error: couldn't parse option context: invalid vendor id:
SWIX55C_01.07.13.00-005.cwe*
# qmi-firmware-update --version

qmi-firmware-update 1.26.10

3) I tried to build latest with atest qmi-firmware-update version 1.31.2
but I have the same issue:
# ./qmi-firmware-update -w /dev/cdc-wdm2 -update
~/adydychk/fws/atta/SWIX55C_01.07.13.00-005.cwe
 ~/adydychk/fws/atta/SWIX55C_01.07.13.00_ATT_012.007_002.nvu

# ./qmi-firmware-update --version

4) I tried to flash the device with Sierra`s fwwdl tool but cannot to
provide the logs because it fails because my environment is a bit not
correct for this tool. I will provide it later if I fix it.

*My questions:*
- Firmware seems ok but why does qmi-firmware-update fail?
- Any thoughts on how I can fix it? Or at least the reason?

Thank you all in advance.

Alexander
