We are pleased to announce that Dan Williams (dan@ioncontrol.co) will be
taking over as the primary maintainer for libqrtr-glib, libqmi, libmbim,
and ModemManager.

From now on, new stable libqrtr-glib, libqmi, libmbim and ModemManager
versions will be released by him. The tags in git will be signed with
his key, and can be verified (git tag --verify <tag>) after having
imported his public key (from
https://www.freedesktop.org/software/ModemManager/0x734614319E26A433.asc
or after synchronizing with the openpgp keyserver).

Dan is not unknown to the projects, quite the opposite! Dan was the
single NetworkManager and ModemManager maintainer when I I joined the
project more than a decade ago, before the separate project libraries
existed. He wrote the original MM 1.0 DBus API and I happened to be one
of the reviewers in the mailing list...

Dan currently works as a freelancer through Ion Control
(http://ioncontrol.co). This enables him to offer custom integration and
troubleshooting services for these projects. This type of engagements
allowed me to keep on maintaining the projects when I was a freelancer,
so I totally suggest every company interested to try it.

In recent months, I haven't been able to dedicate as much time as needed
to maintainership tasks. I care a lot about these projects, and I think
that a step back from me could mean many steps forward for them. I
believe Dan's leadership and new energy will propel these projects forward.

Cheers!
