That’s a point of view I don’t share but let me explain why. At least, we’d
need a one color version for all newspapers who print in black (or any
color, in fact) and we need to control the grey we want to render the
black-blue contrast. Then, I was thinking of an outlined version of the
vector file which would only preserve the graphics, while being totally
resolution and font independent and taking away the fuss of having to
downscale a "high res png" (we never know what hi-res can mean for anybody
— it’s up to the final destination to determine what res fits the needs).
What if they need to upscale? Upscaling pixels has a limit.

It’s there to ease the life of the press people. We don’t expect someone to
"modify" the logo and grabbing a vector file won’t make that happen in
99,99% of the cases. However we don’t have much control on that either and
if someone really wants to modify it, he/she will, no matter what we
provide.

We could provide a PDF file if the SVG seems too risky from the editorial
point of view. But really, I see no risk there, but hypothetical.
