Hello Everyone,
it's just at the end of the month that the LGM 2025 will take place in
Nuremberg. I'm more than excited and hope that the final organizing
phase will go down smoothly. Here are important updates and
informations for the speakers.
It has not been publicly announced via the news or the mastodon channel
yet, but here are the freshest updates:
- On Monday evening, at 8 pm we are going to have a Keynote by Dr
Richard Stallman.
- On Saturday evening, I managed to organize a venue for an official
after party, it's at Desi https://desi-nbg.de
While I'm super excited about the possibility, I don't have yet
organized a line-up. This is a great opportunity for artists, DJs and
visual performers of our community to present themselves, please reach
out. A separate call for this will be issued.
- The State of Libre Graphics presentation is happening. We are
finalizing the information and are going to publish a separate call for
slides. The repository for contributions will
be: https://github.com/libregraphicsmeeting/state-of-lg-2025
- Call for locations/local organizers 2026 most importantly but also
2027. A part of the concept of the LGM is that it is at different
locations each year. While we are going to look into the future of the
LGM at the upcoming edition, it is out of a question that we need
organizers for the future. Please leave a note and ideally come to the
LGM if you consider becoming an organizer in the future. A separate
call for this will be published.
- Well be looking for some helping hands at the event, let me know if
you are available to take over a shift or two.
Presenter Notes:
Please try to stick to 20 minutes duration! The program has 25 minutes
slots, but that includes transition times and if possible a short QA.
I did not get feedback from everyone I informed about their
presentation at the LGM. If you did not yet, please drop me a short
line if you are presenting according to the program. There is also a
possibility to organize a remote presentation, but we need to know
before! So far this has not been planned an we won't have the
capability without .
I wrote some invitation letters for visa applications, if you need one,
please notify me ASAP.
The donations campaign and the sponsoring campaign are not going well.
While the window for sponsoring will close sooner, donations can be
made during the running event. If you know potential sponsors, please
let them know! https://libregraphicsmeeting.org/2025/sponsors/ And
please don't be shy to inform your communities about the LGM and the
donations campaign. https://libregraphicsmeeting.org/2025/donate/ These
are the sources for the funds of the travel reimbursement program.
Looking forward to seeing you all,
Best, Lasse
