Apply any animation (eg. Revolving circles) and click "Slide Show". 

Slideshow won't work or will be whipping itself.

On the other hand, animations inside Impress work very well (push "Play"
button)

I use GNU/Linux Ubuntu 10.04 and
LibreOffice 3.3.0
