well nobody said that it was your fault, I had to fiddle around myself for a
little while until I remembered this is the way it works

well if he/she inserted the checkbox then he/she would know how to delete them,
if not then like us some wasted time :-)

I think we do, just try and get a prompt (or any) response from Microsoft to
your issue. But besides all that in this case actually this is exactly the same
scenario in Word, if you have controls inserted in your document you cannot
delete them directly... you need to do exactly the same steps.
