This is similar to Bug 48692 - "Importing large .doc file causes loop". It's
hard to say if this is the same bug because we don't have the .doc files and
therefore can't see if there are any similarities.

As comment #2 below says and as I have stated in a comment to bug 48692, the
size of the .doc file can NOT be the (only) root of the problem (I can open a
12 MB .doc file with Writer without any problems).

Changed 'Component' to 'Writer', because you will probably use Writer to open a
Word file ;-)
