This bug has been confirmed, the current behavior is inconsistent to other LibO
applications and sometimes a little annoying and so it's a (trivial) bug. I
doubt that further discussion will be useful, especially here in this
particular bug. 

For the PDF problem I submitted "Bug 49151 - PDF export of Empty sheet causes
error message, PRINTING fails silently"!
