Confirmed with:
LO 3.5.5.3 
Build ID: own W7 debug build
Windows 7 Professional SP1 64 bit

When long UNC paths are used filenames of recently used documents are not
displayed in Open... dropdown list in LO StartCenter - only first part of UNC
path is available. 
Full paths with filenames for such entries are visible only in tooltips
displayed in File>Recent Documents menu.
When local paths are used long paths are shortened by ellipsis and filenames
are displayed.
