Bug #: 44514
Summary: LibreOffice: keyboard shortcut bug in Writer after
upgrade to 3.4.4
Classification: Unclassified
Product: LibreOffice
Version: LibO 3.4.4 release
Platform: All
OS/Version: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: medium
Component: Writer
AssignedTo: libreoffice-bugs at lists.freedesktop.org
ReportedBy: johnltw at telus.net
For some time now (probably since OOo v.3.2.x) I've had CTRL+SHIFT+U set to
apply uppercase formatting and CTRL+SHIFT+L to apply lowercase formatting.
Yesterday my Linux distro (Mageia) upgraded from LO v.3.3.x to v.3.4.4 and
suddenly CTRL+SHIFT+U is broken. If I select a word, the word is clobbered by
a lowercase and underlined "u". For an instant the text cursor blinks to the
left of the "u" but then suddenly jumps to its right and removes the underline.
All other accelerator key combos still appear to work correctly, which is to
say that CTRL+U by itself underlines selections, my custom CTRL+SHIFT+L
converts uppercase selections to lowercase, and CTRL+L aligns text to the left
margin.
If I bind the uppercase function to another key combo, like ALT+SHIFT+U, it
does work correctly, so the function itself doesn't appear to be the problem;
something has just gone weird with the way CTRL+SHIFT+U is interpreted.

I've confirmed this bug on two Mageia boxes, one x86 the other x86_64. I'm
posting this bug here as I doubt it's specific to my distro. I'll check if it
effects a WinXP box later today.
I'm otherwise loving LO. Thanks to everybody here for all your hard work.
