in 3.5.4 on Fedora 64 bit sound in animation works. ogg format used.
May be I do something wrong. Please, attach presentation that demonstrates this
problem.

mp3 format not works. But problem is not in LO, but in Fedora. Ability of
playing this format is removed from Fedora and many other Linux distros. It is
too old.
