             Bug #: 52162
Summary: Header menu overlay causes 100% cpu use
    Classification: Unclassified
           Product: LibreOffice
           Version: 3.5.3 release
          Platform: x86-64 (AMD64)
        OS/Version: Linux (All)
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: medium
         Component: Writer
        AssignedTo: libreoffice-bugs at lists.freedesktop.org
        ReportedBy: rorsten at gmail.com

Editing headers opens an overlay with a dropdown box for header options. This
seems to draw very slowly (the dotted line at the bottom of the header takes
half a second to draw on a lightly-loaded Core2 Duo). Scrolling the document
while the cursor is in the header is ASTONISHINGLY slow (~2 seconds per
scrolling step) and uses 100% of one core. Even moving the cursor outside of
the header causes two or three redraws of the overlay (the last is a gradual
removal), and Writer hangs until they are complete.
