An interim solution is to install the "lo-menubar" [1] plugin in Ubuntu. That
way, LibreOffice can export its menus to the Unity's menu bar. However, this
implementation has some issues (the most visible is the lack of Window menu
among others), hence it has not been integrated to LibreOffice yet.
