             Bug #: 52476
Summary: : LibreOfice fails to open
    Classification: Unclassified
           Product: LibreOffice
           Version: 3.5.5.3 release
          Platform: Other
        OS/Version: All
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
 Status Whiteboard: BSA
          Severity: normal
          Priority: medium
         Component: Libreoffice
        AssignedTo: libreoffice-bugs at lists.freedesktop.org
        ReportedBy: sheepdog at gmx.net

Problem description:
I just installed the protable Version of
LibreOfficePortable_3.5.5_Multilingualnormal.paf
and installed it on my PC. Installation has been successful.
But when I tried to start any component of Libreoffice I got the message

LibreOffice 3.5 - Fatal Error

Die Anwendung kann nicht gestartet werden.
a file status object could not be filled

ok

Strangely the very same Installation runs perfectly well from another Windows
Version on the same PC - although I get a message, that the settings already
used by another LibreOffice Installation.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Install Libreoffice
2. try to start any component

Current behavior:
LO fails to start
Expected behavior:
LO starts
Platform (if different from the browser):
Windows XP SP3

Browser: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 5.1; rv:14.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/14.0.1

To fix this behavior I downloaded the regular
LibO_3.5.5_Win_x86_install_multi.msi
and installed it into a copy of the portable Installation to
LibreofficePortable\App\Libreoffice

After that the problem has been fixed.

After I once started this 'fixed' version, the other Portable LO did start
fine, too.

So now I seem not to be able to reproduce the error anymore.

Stefan
