            Bug ID: 110991
Summary: row colour alternation in tables (Calc and Writer)
           Product: LibreOffice
           Version: 5.2.7.2 release
          Hardware: All
                OS: All
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: enhancement
          Priority: medium
         Component: LibreOffice
          Assignee: libreoffice-bugs at lists.freedesktop.org
          Reporter: jerome.bouat at wanadoo.fr

I would appreciate a simple formatting feature which helps to distinguish the
rows of a table. The bank statements do it for decades in order to avoid
reading errors.

Of course Calc provides the automatic formatting which allows the use of
versatile formula. For example, we can define the following automatic
formatting : if MOD(LIGNE(A1);2)=0 then put the row background as grey.

However, the user has to know automatic formatting in Calc tables and this
workaround doesn't cover the Writer tables.

For Calc, a trade-off would be a generator for the above automatic formatting.
This "wizard" would be available from the automatic formatting menu (like the
existing colour scale, ...).

For Writer, we can include a Calc object which has the above automatic
formatting. However a Writer table offers specific useful features (automatic
page jump, ...) which would be lost.
