--- Comment #7 from Sandy Scott <bugzilla at sandyscott.net> ---
I haven't been able to reproduce this as I didn't realise I had the wrong
version (32bit) of java installed for the version of LO I installed. One the
right version was installed LO correctly picked it up with no interaction
required.

As has been determined previously, the bug doesn't appear when reinstallig LO
on a system that has previously had LO installed, so I haven't been able to
confirm it.

There does appear to still be issues when no JRE is present.

After installing LO 64bit (with 32 bit java on my system), I attempted to
create a new database with the default settings. This crashed LO when it
attempted to open it. Subsequent attempts to open the file were successful, but
produced the "No JRE" error when attempting to do anything with it.

Also, it would be useful if the preferences dialog was able to sniff for
versions of java with the 'wrong' number of bits, to give a more helpful (or at
least googleable) error message - a less experienced user is likely to be
confused as to why LO thinks there is no JRE installed when he/she can clearly
find one in their installed applications.
