In truth we already provide for "collaborative editing" with mark-up, tracked
changes, commenting, versioning, file-locking, CMIS and other network/cloud
file sharing, etc.

But if you are talking about a Google Docs style hosted interactive editing
that is already implemented as LibreOffice Online/CODE and commercially
supported Collabora Online services.
