SO I guess there will be no fix anytime soon?  It seems The only work around...
and it's a pain in the butt is to highlight the text then choose character...
then select the font family... then finally pick the font you want.  I don't
understand

IT doesn't matter what OS.  Windows, Linux 16.04 LTS, Linux Mint Sarah, Windows
8.1 and Windows 10 all have the same issue.

As I said.  All versions of Libre office 5.0 on up seem to share this bug.
