You are very patient and I am still, probably, being very stupid, but I have
yet to succeed to get any JREs to appear on that screen.  Java Control Panel
tells me that I have a JRE at c:\\program files (x86)\java, but when I get to
the screen you gave, and try to add that JRE, I am told that the file does not
contain a JRE and would I please try another address.

If I search for javaw.exe I am told it exists in c:\\programdata\java, which
(programdata) does not appear on any list of the files in c:\ that I can find.
